December, Part Four
We heard about a neighbourhood nearby that people call Candy Cane Lane, because all the people who live there decorate their houses for Xmas in a big way! We took a stroll around the streets and it was incredible! People even had stalls outside their houses selling popcorn and cookies and hot chocolate. I had some popcorn :)
On Christmas Eve, I made mince pies with my Dad, and we had our traditional home-made Christmas Eve pizza. We even pulled crackers! After dinner we took a walk around the block to look at the lights, and I sprinkled reindeer food on the lawn so that Santa would be able to find our house. We left out lots of snacks for him too. Because we are a trans-Atlantic household, we left cookies and milk (American), and whisky and a mince pie (British). I bet Santa really enjoyed coming to our house!
